We welcome students and postdocs who want to develop methods, algorithms, benchmarks, and software at the intersection of quantum chemistry and quantum computing.
We have openings for motivated researchers interested in quantum algorithms, excited-state electronic structure, materials simulation, and scientific software engineering. Strong curiosity matters more than already knowing every tool.

Students can build skills in quantum algorithms, electronic-structure theory, numerical methods, and open scientific software. We hire 1-2 students every year. Grand Forks is a friendly, convenient town for students.
UND undergraduates from chemistry, physics, computer science, mathematics, engineering, and related STEM fields are welcome to reach out about computational projects.
Electronic structure, excited states, response theory, relativistic effects, and strong correlation.
Quantum subspace methods, Krylov algorithms, error mitigation, benchmarking, and numerical stability.
Python research tooling, reproducible workflows, scientific packages, and collaborative code development.
